The God Satchel

Whilst we still wait across the pond here for the new product, I decided it was worth looking at how I could implement some of the new cards with some of the older.

First stop probably the best card of the lot.

Most people have been looking at this from a modern standpoint, but i'm going to skip past that, and take a look at what impact it can have on some older golden teams.

When a card is looking for an action die to trigger it's effect then why not have a deck heavily focused on using actions to its fullest potential.

Normally when you roll an action dice you have a 75% chance
of hitting the action face. When your opponent brings
Scarlet Witch - Careful What you Wish for, that drops to 25%.
Acererak's Global is here to help negate that percentage drop.

Fielding this is nothing to cry about either, with the Attune, and the next card in our list, the main ability is of some use.

The global here is going to help us get some early damage as well as some cost reduction for our actions.
It's an evil character, so is reduced in cost if Acererak is in the field when you use an action.
Breath Weapon 3 is as not even as good as it gets on here, as that ability to double the effect of and action die is horrifying.
This actions vital to keeping a clear board, and since God Catcher makes tokens our characters are expensive we're not overly affected by it in the early to mid game.

Brilliant piece of removal that can sit in the field,
the burst face is also handy for blanking out nuisance
cards that you cant quite remove with the damage.

Nice little action to provide some taxing on our opponent, and also provides some fuel for our next card.

Between the Kyln and Cold Gun sitting in our field, we have plenty sitting around to fuel this for some good chunks of damage.

Some debate about how the global is actually supposed to work on this one, but all that aside, it is gonna do what we need and that is fixing our energy for whatever were gonna buy.

This is useful in our team as our catcher tokens are always going to be classed as level one anyway. This lets us push our damage without any blockers getting in our way.

Purely here to provide some ramp and churn.

Hopefully once I receive my product I can take this for a spin. Let me know your thoughts in the comments and don't forget to subscribe.

  1. Great stuff, interesting to see. Once the set comes out I'm going to try and get as many God Catchers out as possible. Like the idea of an army of 10/10s.

No Ban Golden

It has been a while since I have written an article, mainly due to a hiatus from the game and welcoming another member into our family. All that aside, the back end of last year the Dice Fight team decided to run a "no ban list" golden event, which was well received by the player involved. Here are the team lists: alsodanlowe : DavidC : NefariousBroadcaster : Skyraver : CollectorRob : Current Golden Banned List  Relentless: Basic Action Card Swords of Revealing Light: Basic Action Card Imprisoned: Basic Action Card (Uncanny X-Men) Beholder: Master Abberation (Battle for Faerûn) Ring of Magnetism: Action Attraction (Yu-Gi-Oh!) Final Results Seeing these lists I remember a team that I played back in Dice Fight Legacy V, This team nabbed me the top spot back then and was a solid choice, from the available pool at the time, but with no restrictions Collector Rob was able to make some improvements to the team still netting him a 2nd place, But why stop there? I believe there is st...

An Approach to Team Building

Last week after the Dice Fight, in Aftermath, some questions arose about team building so this week I am going to look at team building, as for some it is one of the greatest struggles when it comes to preparing for games. Hopefully many of you will benefit from some of the resources, and points made here on in. I'm going to start with laying out some bullet points. Win Conditions Power Cards Ramp & Churn Fixing Control Cost Synergy Card Stat's Before we dive in a bit deeper, I will start by saying that I normally keep some boxes with a pool of cards I like playing with, and a select number of dice to go with those cards. This not only saves time but these are battle tested cards and are generally the best in their set. This pool is for the most part made up of ccm00007's  Essentials List , I separate these into 3 piles. Modern Golden BAC's Once I know the format I remove any cards that are banned, then I split down further depending on forma...
