All Hope is Lost

Since the game started the X-Men have been one of the most prevalent and adored affiliations in the game.
Currently there are 243 cards that have the affiliation, and none have drawn the attention of players more than the illustrious Hope Summers - Pluripotent Echopraxia.

In my opinion this is the most flexible card ever printed as it can copy 240 different cards, its low cost, low fielding, and a max 4 dice count.

Lets take a look at some prospects.

This is probably one of my favourite cards to copy as it is a very taxing card to play against.
Getting this ability for what is effectively half price is bonkers, and if you start combining this with sage Psionic Firewall and other fielding tax cards, then your near sure guaranteed a  rage quit, if not a grumble or two.

From my understanding I believe that you get this in the field with hope copying it, you are then able to use both to purchase as many dice with fabricate you can, as they will always come back. This works beautifully with Yondu Yaka Arrows, and Ork Nob Big Choppa.

Nice bit of character taxing that you can double up to great effect, lets face it nobody wants to pay two for a 0 fielding cost, and certainly not 5 for a 3 fielding cost, if you add the Professor X featured above to the mix then it really starts to get silly.

Probably the most combined card with hope due to its availability in the modern format, and likely to see even more play with the release of the wild magic basic action card.

Worst thing about playing Boom Boom is when your action dice are bought up from underneath you. On its own this card is a good source of damage at 2 per action draw, with a hope copying they really are paying with their life at 4 per draw.
Copying this will double the damage output on fielding a sidekick, chuck Professor X - No More, Magnus! into the mix gives you some steady damage output.
Good old damage prevention with 40% of the cost shaved off, definition of a bargain buy.

Step 1 Build a wall of characters.
Step 2 Spin them up with energy field action
Step 3 Laugh as your opponent crumbles in a mess of tears.
If you copy this and run Seething Corruption or Staff of the Forgotten along side then you can clear opposing walls of characters.
Used this before with some good results, only downside is you need to be able to re-field it after your initial copy for it to have any effect, so is worth bringing some form of knock out global.
Great card to copy and has the ability to shut down entire teams on it's level 3 side.

Whats better than 4 Domino dice? 8 Domino Dice.
being able to get damage of your Hope dice on 2 sides and then being able to copy something else once you field it isn't anything to cry about. Using Parallax for extra re-rolls is nice too.

Are there any cards you like to copy with Hope Summers, let me know in the comments, and don't forget to follow and subscribe.

The God Satchel

Whilst we still wait across the pond here for the new product, I decided it was worth looking at how I could implement some of the new cards with some of the older. First stop probably the best card of the lot. Most people have been looking at this from a modern standpoint, but i'm going to skip past that, and take a look at what impact it can have on some older golden teams. When a card is looking for an action die to trigger it's effect then why not have a deck heavily focused on using actions to its fullest potential. Normally when you roll an action dice you have a 75% chance of hitting the action face. When your opponent brings Scarlet Witch - Careful What you Wish for, that drops to 25%. Acererak's Global is here to help negate that percentage drop. Fielding this is nothing to cry about either, with the Attune, and the next card in our list, the main ability is of some use. The global here is going to help us get some early damage as well as some...

Fixing a Broken Format

Please bear in mind as I write this article that its 100% theoretical. Today I am going to discuss Global Escalation as a format, in short it is a format that has a few issues with it to say the least, so firstly were going to look at Wizkids definition of the format. Global Escalation disallows cards that meet the following criteria: 1) It has made the Finals of one of the following events: * Dice Masters World Championships 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 * Dice Masters US National Championships 2018, 2019 AND it doesn't have a Global Ability 2) Swords of Revealing Light, Relentless, and Cosmic Cube: Energy of the Beyonders are also disallowed, see the announcement here:  https://wizkids.com/dicemasters/global-escalation/ So as we can see here it came with a banned list already in place, which is fair enough, its a format that wants to weed out the power cards to a certain extent and force you to adapt and conquer, but there is already an issue. Firstly it disallows cards...

No Ban Golden

It has been a while since I have written an article, mainly due to a hiatus from the game and welcoming another member into our family. All that aside, the back end of last year the Dice Fight team decided to run a "no ban list" golden event, which was well received by the player involved. Here are the team lists: alsodanlowe : DavidC : NefariousBroadcaster : Skyraver : CollectorRob : Current Golden Banned List  Relentless: Basic Action Card Swords of Revealing Light: Basic Action Card Imprisoned: Basic Action Card (Uncanny X-Men) Beholder: Master Abberation (Battle for Faerûn) Ring of Magnetism: Action Attraction (Yu-Gi-Oh!) Final Results Seeing these lists I remember a team that I played back in Dice Fight Legacy V, This team nabbed me the top spot back then and was a solid choice, from the available pool at the time, but with no restrictions Collector Rob was able to make some improvements to the team still netting him a 2nd place, But why stop there? I believe there is st...
